Product Description

Von Flanschengeschossen und Wolframkernen Die Entwicklung der Hochgeschwindigkietsmunition fur konische Rohre durch Dr. Hans Neufeldt und die Firma Polte, Magdeburg by Manfred Stegmuller,  Translations by Paul M. Seibold, C 2000, 249 page soft cover, used.  Increasing the performance of guns is an old problem. For more than 50 years, the conical tube was considered the best means of achieving high projectile speeds. In Germany, Carl Puff, Herman Gerlich and above all Hans Neufeldt worked on the development of these weapons and their special ammunition. This resulted in a myriad of experimental models, but it also introduced a number of weapons, such as the 2.8 cm s.Pz.B 41 or the 7.5 cm Pak 41. In addition, Hans Neufeldt developed at Polte armor piercing ammunition with tungsten cores for the 2 cm Flak 38. The present work provides a profound overview of the work of Hans Neufeldt at Polte in World War II and also in the Bundeswehr. The author was able to draw on countless unpublished documents, but also on original pieces from private collections in Europe and the USA, as well as from the Museum of Historical Defense Technology in Rothenbach / Pegniz near Nurnberg. This very rare book is quite interesting, it clears up many misunderstandings about the work of Gerlich and the extensive experiments done on his theorys.  Free shipping.
